This portrait was painted in the 1940’s around the “Golden phase” which was when the artist painted mostly in gold in the Nouveau period.  This painting uses gold tones, which represent the wealthy-ness of the family.  It also contains shapes like pyramids and squares that form an important role in this painting by calling attention to the lady.  She was the only person at that time to be painted twice by Klimt.  The eyes around her dress in a self-perspective would represent looking into her soul, but from an outside perspective it would mean being the focus and criticism.  The color green at the bottom left represents the ambition she was born with and the life she lived.  This painting has various perceptions; one could perceive her being skinner by looking at the eyes, or bigger if we look at the larger curved lines.
